Ida Kay is a communications executive who drives global Brand and product relevance through the lenses of lifestyle and culture. Ida built her career between New York City and Los Angeles, starting with communications for Beyoncé’s House of Deréon footwear division. While at DC Shoes, Ida led lifestyle strategy focused on sneakers, streetwear culture, and digital communications (including the creation of the brand’s blogging strategy and social media accounts). During her time at G-Star RAW, she was promoted to Head of Communications and led the team to grow the brand’s earned media outcome by 300%. She also led New York Fashion Week activations and brand collaborations with the likes of Leica Camera, Vitra furniture, and Anton Corbijn.
At Red Bull, she started in music, art, and dance communications before taking on expanded roles in influencer strategy and content creation. After Ida and her team led communications strategies for events like Red Bull Music Academy and partnerships with fashion brands like Public School NYC, among others, Ida was promoted to Director of Brand Communications, where she led the national Red Bull team to increase both frequency and media impressions 200% YOY with a 98% positive sentiment. In her VP role at World Surf League, Ida was a member of WSL's DEI committee and oversaw the global communications, athlete marketing, and influencer relations team. Most recently, Ida provided strategic communications, influencer, and entertainment marketing consulting to brands such as Levi’s and Igloo Coolers. Ida is currently in-house at Amazon Music, leading strategy for the Music Industry and Culture Partnerships team.
